Democratizing Wealth building in Private Alternatives Through AI Innovation

In an exclusive interview with CanadianSME Small Business Magazine, Khushboo Jha, Founder and CEO of BuyProperly, shares how her AI-powered investment platform is revolutionizing access to private alternative investments, including real estate, private credit, and private equity, with a starting investment as low as $500.

BuyProperly enables Private alternative investments such as real state, private credit, and private equity starting at $500 through AI-driven insights. How does your platform address the specific challenges Canadian SMBs face?

We are great supporters of Canadian SMBs. We support the SMBs three ways.  (1) Capital raising strategy and reaching investors through listing on the platform, (2) Enhancing their overall investment strategy through our partner advisors (3) Operational efficient for select SMBs. 

On our platform – we have supported several SMBs raise capital for their business, to help them grow and scale. We currently have a BioTech Solutions provider (BioCache), and a Filtered water provider (Tableau) thats leveraging our platform to raise capital for their growth and expansion. 

We also support established SMBs in their investments – for example we have technology consulting and accounting firms, investing through us, to ensure they diversify their risks away from their industry by investing their extra cash in an industry that does not correlate to them. 

We also provide white label technology solutions to several Exempt Market dealers, fund managers, and fund administrative service providers, to help them save hundreds of thousands in operational efficiency.

Your proprietary AI evaluates 100M+ data points to identify high-yield properties. Could you share a case study where this technology helped investors achieve the 20-40% returns mentioned in your funding announcement? How do you balance algorithmic efficiency with local market nuances?

Our AI models, factor in three large buckets of variables, and are trained on data for the last 100 years from the public market as well as on proprietary data. 

BuyProperly’s platform uses the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to help identify desirable high ROI investment opportunities by scanning and computing hundreds of variables, across Macroeconomic factors, deal specific industry factors, deal specific factors, and selects opportunities best suited for Retail investors, for a pre-defined time horizon.  over 150 variables. This algorithm helps simplify the effort of finding new and exciting investment opportunities that fit your criteria and presents them to you for consideration.

The AI model helps us run detailed analysis. However, there are still governance issues, social media and legal records, market sentiment about sponsors of investments, and local geographic nuances, captured through local advisors and experts in the geographies of investments. We leverage AI for narrowing options and then conduct more nuanced local research, including interviews and surveys to get more organic information from the market through local partners and consultants, a.k.a boots on the ground.


With 30% of investors using your platform for multiple investments, how does BuyProperly’s secondary marketplace solve liquidity challenges in fractional investing? What safeguards exist against market volatility affecting early exits?

Secondary marketplace allows investors to exit outside of the investments planned exit time horizon which may be long. This allows them to make investments in deals with a longer time horizon,  which is often the case in private market alternatives. Since these investments are not traded on a stock exchange, they are not liquid, and sometimes given the nature of the investment, the investment hold period could be anywhere between 5-15 years, such as is the case in Real Estate. 

In such cases, or in cases where an investor’s personal circumstances have changed- an exit before time is possible through listing on our secondary marketplace, which allows them to trade to another potential investor. 


Following your US expansion and partnership with Trinnium Equity Group, how does BuyProperly adapt its model for cross-border regulatory environments while maintaining accessibility for Canadian investors?

We have been in the US for two years now. We are compliant on all applicable regulations on both sides of the border, and endeavour to constantly maintain that. 

For Canadian investors, select US deals are available for cross-border investment, and we ensure an optimum tax structure for Canadian investors. 


As a Women of the Year honoree and WealthTech pioneer, what advice would you give SMB owners about building resilient investment portfolios in uncertain economic climates? How does BuyProperly’s approach align with broader wealth-creation strategies?

BuyProperly’s goal is to democratize wealth building for everyone, and not just the large institutions. To that end, we provide investment opportunities for SMBs. We also provide capital raising tools, and white label solutions to several Financial Services SMB firms to help them in their growth and their cost and operational efficiency. Our white-labelled solutions, service several Hedge Funds, Private Credit funds, Private equity funds, and fund administration service providers of all sizes.
